Meet Frankie, my first amazing client in the Valley!
What People have to say about their experiences in working with me:
Hanni came into our life like an angel. She is extremely proficient as a medical technician, and could not only expertly administer Sam’s care, but she often helped us interpret our veterinarian’s medical language so we could better understand our options, and she helped us notice when Sam needed higher or lower doses of medication so we could discuss this with the vet. She was incredibly gentle and loving with Sam, caring for him from the first as though he were her beloved pet. Rather than shy away from his treatments (as he had with us), Sam actually got up and greeted Hanni every time she came, and we know he felt well taken care of. Emotionally she was a huge support for us as well, as it is incredibly confusing to have to make life and death decisions on behalf of a pet who can’t tell you what he wants, and we were very prone to second-guessing ourselves and feeling scared of making the wrong call. Hanni helped us walk through decisions and monitor his care in a way that balanced his needs, our needs, and held our intense feelings during the process. In addition to the daily medical care, Hanni also transported him safely during our cross-country move, which meant not losing him. She also helped us find veterinary and nursing home care in our new location so that when he arrived with Hanni there would be no disruption of his care.
Hanni gave Sam many, many wonderful days. Without the care he would have suffered. With the care, he did so well. We wondered on some days if he was in cahoots with the vet to provide a fake diagnosis just so we would repeal our moratorium on table scraps. He soaked up the sun on his favorite landings. He cuddled between us in bed. He refused to be separated from our rough and tumble boys. He purred. He ate. He wanted to be outside taking walks until the very end. We feel so grateful to Hanni for making it possible for us to give Sam the respect and joy during his final months in our family that he deserved. ~Katelin and Sarah, Sam's moms (please see BLOG) When I learned that Hanni would be moving to the area I nearly leapt for joy. She is a vet tech specializing in elderly dogs and cats. Though I'm very happy with my vet, there were times when a more in-depth conversation would have been so helpful as my sweet little dog developed issues with hearing, sight and weight loss as she aged. I was able to talk easily and openly with Hanni about the things I was facing with her. I was looking for strategies to make her more comfortable and content. Hanni has the perfect combination of scientific information, emotional insight, and compassion. I just wish she had arrived a few years earlier.
~Janet Crosby Amherst, MA I worked with Hanni for over 2 years taking care of pets in a busy, small animal clinic and in private homes; I am so grateful to Hanni for her effective, gentle, intuitive care of both animals and their people.

Hanni came into our family when my dog Morgie was beginning to have some difficult symptoms. Morgie was a rescue dog and a collie (sensitive and a bit unpredictable!) and she was very old by the time I asked Hanni to come and give Morgie her medical treatments at home. Morgie was more calm with her than I had ever seen. Hanni would gently massage her shoulders and Morgie would be immediately calmed by her touch. When I saw that, I told Hanni I wanted her to come every day - as long as the fluids and other medicines helped Morgie. One day, I knew it was time to let her go. I asked a doctor we loved and trusted to come to the home and I also knew that I wanted Hanni with us. She came and stayed with me and Morgie. I will never forget the way she treated Morgie.
~Susan Sheridan Albany, CA I was so pleased when Hanni arrived in my neighborhood and began to provide in-home canine elder care. This is exactly what I was looking for with my golden retriever, Frankie. We have only been working together a few weeks, but so far I am delighted. ~Elizabeth Young Northampton, MA When she was living here in the Bay Area, Hanni was an invaluable asset to my business. I developed one of the very first veterinary practices devoted strictly to providing compassionate in home end of life care for pets over 13 years ago, and Hanni has been instrumental in helping to provide that care for the last several years. I have always felt comfortable having Hanni help families with the nursing and medical care that their elder pets required. She was also excellent at helping to provide communication between families, me, and other veterinarians involved with the challenging needs of these often very fragile animals. I will definitely miss having the ability to call on Hanni whenever people and their pets are struggling with these difficult end of life issues, but know that families in her new home area now have an amazing resource available to them. Hanni is an exceptionally skilled veterinary technician, and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone in need of care for one of their four-legged family members.
